Another crazy weekend

Yet, another fast, fun, and festive weekend for the Medina familia. Caleb having to spend the night at coaches house Friday night just so he can have a ride to his 8am bball game...Joseph is at a Boy Scout overnighter. And Maddy having a soccer tourney, starting at 8:30am at Red Mountain Sports Complex. With the little ones having to get up so early in the morning, it's a wonder we make it anywhere on time...or do we?!?!?!?!

Caleb's team played hard in their game, but fell short by 8 points, playing guys much bigger than them...which is hard to do with Caleb. One player wouldn't even reveal his age after the game....hhhmmmmmmm. I still haven't been able to see Caleb play because of his and Maddy's schedules, but at least Dad gets to go and cheer him on. Dad is constantly working and playing with Caleb, practicing his rebounding and shots. It's hard to see it at age 9, but one day Caleb will see what a great dad Joseph is and how much time he spends with his "best friend."

Barza's first game started out real rough, playing a top Nevada U9 team, who were much bigger than them. Although, since her team is playing up (2 years for some of them), it's hard not to be bigger than the little 7 year olds out there... Grandma has a hard time watching because she doesn't want anyone pushing her little Maddy around. We keep telling Grandma, her little Maddy does her own share of rough playing too :).

Barza came back at the 1pm game and played very tough, but still falling short 1-2 against the #1 U9 AZ team (Sereno from Scottsdale).

After the Saturday games, the Barza family stayed after, with the Maddio's motorhome and had a BBQ at the park. The kids and adults had a blast, shutting the park down 4 hours later.
Sunday they came out on fire and ready to play, defeating Del Sol and Arsenal, finishing the tourney 2-2. I was very proud of Maddy's play and how she continues to improve and amaze me. Everyone constantly tells us they have NEVER seen a girl her age with such great dribbling skills. Mom is so proud of her and her hard work!
Maddy really enjoys playing with these girls, on the field and off. They finished the long weekend with a slumber party at the Self's house, and all of them got along so well and had such fun. Maddy was the first to crash, and the last to wake up...that's my girl...loves her sleep!
To add to the excitement during the fiascal of a weekend, in between Maddy's games, we picked up a new addition to our family.
I am pleased to introduce Bella. Our teacup Poodle is 9 weeks old and our new pride and joy. (Heads up to all those mothers out there still having children...this is what happens when you finally stop having them but still need to fill that void). Puppies are a lot of work, but she is so cute and fun to have around. We're just hoping and praying that she stays healthy...and survives Jacob :)
